The history of Tilburg Trappers

On 21 October 1938 TIJSC (Tilburgsche Ice Sports Club) was founded. After the club on January 18, 1939 officially recognized, the first game on March 3, 1939 against a team from Brussels played. Tilburg lose this match 6-2. In the 1946-1947 season, the club's first official champion of the Netherlands call.

Because in 1952 the home track of TIJSC, the ice rink at the Alder Street, is closed, a few years no hockey played in Tilburg. With the opening of the skating rink Theresia in 1964 will again change. TIJSC continues under the name TIJSC Tilburg Trappers. After 5 years, the new ice rink Pellikaanhal the new home of the Trappers.
Tilburg wins the competition six times in succession from the season 1970-1971 to the 1975-1976 season. In those six seasons, winning the 131 Tilburg contests, games and losing three times as eight times. In the 1974-1975 season is even 32 times in a row won. From the 1972-1973 season is also the cup competition introduced in the Netherlands. Trappers won the first four editions. Simultaneously, another semi-finals of the European Cup achieved.

After the 80 that are closed without championships, knows Tilburg Trappers in the 90's again three times champion and four times to win the cup. From 1998 the team plays on the current home, the IJssportcentrum. In the 2000-2001 season the club up again the double in 2005-2006 and won the cup again.
